“ This is our first time trying out a "Pinsa". We were a family of 4, and we ordered 3 pinsas, plus the rice balls - all of which were amazing. In terms of texture, the pinsas are a great combination of crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, which makes the slice just jump in your mouth. In terms of flavor, the ingredients are fresh and delicious. The whole experience was worth it, including a bunch of tiramisus at the end with different flavors. The owners were very nice, talked to us, and gave us advice for future visits in Rome. Would definitely return to the place once we're back in DC! ”

“ If you like Roma pizza, this is your place. I’m not the biggest fan, but I recognize they’re creating a high quality version of it. I had the vegetariana with stracchino cheese. It lacked salt in the toppings, leaving it tasting a bit less flavorful. It had a decent crust. If you get it, be sure to grab a saltier cheese. My party was told no modifications to the pizzas, so come in knowing that. Service was top notch, making sure our waters were full the entire time. The pizzas naturally took a moment since they were made on the spot. The others in the group loved their pizzas although they also noted that salt was varied in their orders. ”

“ Dined in last weekend for dinner with a 7pm reservation and had an amazing dinner with my girlfriend. Service was attentive and helpful in navigating the menu and options. The toasted bread served with burrata appetizer was the same dough as the pinsa-style pizza and an exciting preview of the pizzas soon to come. Paired with the Carciofi Alla Romana appetizer, we still had room for our pizzas - the Mortadella and Fabrizio's Vesuvio. Our server told us the Vesuvio has a “summer” style where the lighter toppings are added after the pizza is cooked; I asked for the chef’s recommendation and was pleasantly surprised with the summer variety where the cool burrata topping was a refreshing compliment to the pizza’s full flavor. We finished dinner with the “Le Nuvolette Con Nutella” - La Casina’s pinsa dough fried and topped with Nutella and powdered sugar. This incredible combination made me think of a homestyle dessert my (Italian) grandmother would’ve loved and much to French irritation, what I dare call a Roman “Beignet”. The entire dinner from start to finish was unforgettable and a dinner I’d love to experience again and again. After standing up from my table to leave, I had an opportunity to thank the chefs in the open air kitchen behind the bar top (with seats for dining in!) and found Fabrizio and Angela delightful and incredibly passionate for their home-inspired pinsa pizza. ”

“ Who is the patron saint of pizza?? These transplants from Rome to eastern market area are true pizza gods and goddesses. We have no experience of pizza of Rome alas but this is without any doubt truly glorious. The crust is low yeast and is set up after 24 hours of chilling. From chill to forming out and then direct to 700 degree wood fired beehive oven produces a heavenly crust. It is thin, blistered and has incredible taste. I had the margherita pizza and the better half had L’armatice — yummy pork cheek. So delicious yet so generous in size that we couldn’t eat it all!! Next time we may split one pizza and enjoy either an appetizer or dessert. The staff were first rate in greeting us and making us feel welcome. The place is outstanding. We live on the other side of town but it is now our go to place for all future pizza. We were here for opening pizzeria paradise, two Amy’s, etc etx. All good in their way. But this is now tops! Add: the leftover pizza held up and was very good when heated the next day ”

“ We absolutely love La Casina - it's our weekly midweek pizza or rather, pinsa spot. Kiddos love the authentic margarita and us adults love to try the chef's specials. (Tonight for example we jist had La Greca which was as refreshing as the name implies!) pinsas Giuseppe, the one with the yellow tomato sauce, mortadella, cacio & peppe, vegetariana are also absolute favorites even though we can't really choose one! The dough - oh, this cloud-like dough ”
